Sadly we have lost another legend today...

Bob Sherman passed away last night. In honor of his amazing contributions to the library of Disney songs I have complied a list of tracks that will play on the scheduled stream in his honor.

The Bob Sherman Tribute will play at:

5:00 AM EST
9:30 AM EST
2:00 PM EST
5:30 PM EST
10:00 PM EST

Also if you have not seen the documentary about the Sherman Brothers I would strongly suggest buying or renting the film.

For those unaware of how huge a role he had in WDW theme park music, he was the man responsible for "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", "One Little Spark", "It's a Small World", The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, "The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room", "Magic Highways", "Makin' Memories", and "Miracles from Molecules" (just to name some).

In addition to all the attraction music, he wrote the scores for plays (Mary Poppins) and MANY movies (Aristocats, Jungle Book, etc).

A VERY sad loss and a great tribute that really showcased all.

Definitely a huge loss. Without the songs/scores that he and his brother wrote, my childhood memories that I still love to re-visit these days would not be the same. Sadly, it seems that we are in the era where most of the truly hardcore "Disney at heart" guys are now leaving us...just within the past few years, the Disney community has lost many of it's truly great family members. I hope that another generation of "Disney at heart" people come to the Disney organization, take it by the horns, and bring Disney back to the way it was meant to be.

I still love Disney, but the attractions at the parks and the movies and shows just do not have the same Disney feel that they used to (sorry for the rant, I do not mean to hijack this thread for that topic).

Thanks for the memories Mr. Sherman!

True. You can always request a bunch of music and create your own tribute. There are loads of Sherman & Sherman songs available: "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", "Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room", "Miracles from Molecules", anything from Mary Poppins...just to name a few.
