The sun of the Sun Wheel has been removed over the course of last week I believe. I can't tell if they painted the rest of the Wheel but since I still see some bright blue ones, I think they're still working on painting the remainder of it.

Wow...how weird is that? Looks strange with the water drained as well. Can't wait to see it when it's done!

It really does look weird without the water. Part of me expects a bunch of teenagers bringing their skateboards to the park to ride around the drained lake.

I'm very hopeful that a lot of the ideas in Blue Sky Cellar make it to DCA. Seems like a lot of times the imagineers dream big, then due to time and money constraints they end up dropping a lot of ideas.

The Maliboomer is staying put after lengthy talks about it and budget changes have occurred so it's staying.

That new sign looks real nice - will the water be back by October?

Most likely not. World of Color won't premiere until Spring 2010.

And it looks like the REALLY heavy construction in the "pit" has started.

I'm waiting for the removal of the Orange Stinger to see how the progress for the Silly Symphony Swings will turn out. RIP Paradise Pier Skatepark

I seem to love updating this thread and keeping everyone updated, I don't know why. I'm like a news reporter, I swear. But yes, let me fill in some stuff I found on Micechat.

http://d23.disney.go.com/newsfeatures.html - Pacific Wharf bridge reopens on April 3.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/ ... G_8781.jpg - Majority of the gondolas on Mickey's Fun Wheel have been put back; Mickey's face has yet to make an appearance. Progress is going well since it's supposed to open on the 24th of this month.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/ ... G_8771.jpg / http://darkbeer.smugmug.com/photos/5043 ... 46eN-M.jpg - The Mickey ears of California Screamin' getting another facelift: going to be painted blue and getting a sun icon installed.

The San Francisco facade by the Grizzly Peak is turning into a number of bathrooms. No change yet with the upper part of the building. That's about all for now. More will come when Micechat makes another daily update.

Mickeys Fun Wheel now has a face and character...... http://mousetimes.com/forums/showthread ... post387825 Looks like the face was put up in a matter of days, and the opening of the Wheel is still on time for later this month. Also new lights have been added to the wheels frame and the cars are all ready to go. May 9th is the opening for guests, less than a month away.

Great find, Doc! The last time I was there last week, they only had the framing for the ears. They're going pretty fast with this to make sure they hit the deadline. I can see the lights along the Mickey face too.

Way to go doctor, just what I needed to see today. Love the new look, the theming of Paradise Pier is really starting to come together!

Wow that looks a lot different. I guess soon all those jokes about DCA will be history. I'll definitely try taking a trip out there once this whole park is complete. Has there been any updated timeline yet?
