My brother works for an AI company that recently has gone through and removed old laptops from service that are about 3 years old so he is going to find one in their "garage sale" ~ it should be better than what I could buy new for a much lower price. So, sort of in limbo...sigh

Ah shucks, that sucks. Especially the not being able to update apple stuff. Been there. Nice you can get a good deal though on a "broken in" one Not quite sure what the computer term is that's the equivalent of "pre-owned". I laughed so hard the first time I saw that name on what previously was just a "used" car.
