DW and I just finished the Talladega Half Marathon this morning. We both had a great run and finished under 3 hours (my first time to do that). We ran on the Talladega Super Speedway, plus a little outside the track.

Here is a link to the Garmin website that will show our race. Click on the name "2010 Talladega Half Marathon" and you can see all the details about the race, and the Player button will animate the runner icon.

I know they wont see this but I want to wish good luck to a couple of ladies that qualified for Boston at the WDW Marathon. So, good luck! Hope the hills don't get them.

Do you know what pace they had to keep to qualify for the Boston?

Boston does it by age. They were both 35 and had to beat 3:45 in Disney.

It goes up five minutes for each age group.

I guess the Boston is out of my league. I just broke a 3 hour half and am very proud :D

You're giving away your age, Spirit!

I'm sure you could qualify.

I bet you could do it too! Just think how much faster you would be running simply by being excited about running through Disney!

I don't mind telling my age :) . I'm 52, and didn't start running until I was 51 (other than High School track). There comes a time when you are just glad to still be here (like an older friend said "If I had known I would live this long, I would have taken better care of myself!" [RIP, Bob]).

Disney isn't the place for me to set records. There is too much to distract me - ie. characters, scenery, picture opportunities. At Disney, I run for the fun of it - and the hardware (medals).

It seems now I can still enjoy running, without the pressure of setting any speed records 8-) .

That's impressive that people can use Disney as a qualifying race. Usually it's Chicago or a course that is similar, flat and fasssssst!
