Re: An old Find while cleaning

I'm always disappointed we never made it to the old boardwalk trail, off the southern/eastern end of the campground. It was the same boardwalk that was near River Country, but at the "other" end of the beach. The wife and I tried to bushwhack it a couple of years back - barely got into the jungle. W...

Re: Moving to be near the Mouse!!!!

It's Florida, so their idea of upper class is wearing clothes new from JC Penny. :D Golden Oak is weird, they don't actually bill themselves as a senior community, they make no mentions of it nor have an age requirement. They only heavily imply it in the images. Though, for park access, they probab...

Re: Favorite people watching location

A number of years back they had drained some of the moat (maybe when the castle was a pink cake? My years get mixed up) and you could see the tracks for the swan boats, so I kept asking when they would refurbish the boats and bring them back...well, no such luck. But I do, sort of, remember riding ...

Re: Moving to be near the Mouse!!!!

After looking at the Golden Oak community (online of course) I don't think I'd want to live there. All of us here would want to live like kids down there if we could always stay on property, and I have a feeling that community wouldn't allow anything like that. I see those places being more for eve...

Re: Disney Transport Bus Roster

I used to drive 1967 and 1966 GMC 35 and 40 footers, and sometimes some 30 ft Bluebirds, back when I drove for Blacksburg Transit in the late-80s. Those were the days...met my wife there, too! And that's a story best left for another day, and another thread...

By the way, Go Hokies...

Re: Favorite people watching location

For MK, I like sitting on a bench in the old Swan Boat Dock in the Plaza rose garden..... Um, I hate to break it to you but... (you know it is gone now right??) A number of years back they had drained some of the moat (maybe when the castle was a pink cake? My years get mixed up) and you could see ...

Re: Moving to be near the Mouse!!!!

With the people that visit Disney every day, week, month, year, What do people do for a living to be able to visit sooooo often. COME ON POWERBALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P :goofy: Yup - that's what we're waiting for. I'm hoping to win enough to buy TONS of DVC points, and basically just live in one of th...

Re: New Hard Ticket Events Coming to WDW.

Okay - cost aside, I really really REALLY like AK after dark. It is hard to find late-evening times when it is dark enough to see it, but the theme and lighting after dark (or late dusk) is really pretty. Now, with cost - uhmmm, yeah, it seems pricey. But once I buy enough DVC points to spend 52 wee...

Re: Monorail for sale

None of my bids have been successful yet (HA ha ha ha...). I'm concerned, though, that the bigger cost will be the installation of pylons and the beam, much less a switching system and a roundhouse!

Re: An old Find while cleaning

I, too, like the older material they used. I've been eyeballing some of the old Fort Wilderness stuff, as we find that we now camp there more than any other visit (unless it is a conference - I got lucky TWICE in 2013). But the flyer brings back memories. We actually visited the Disney Info center t...

Re: Trip Planning after Shanghai opens

There wasn't any kind of universal ticket when I visited the parks in Paris, Japan and California all in one trip, but that was a little over 10 years ago now. I don't believe they have added something like that, but it never hurts to ask. Thanks - I'm hopeful that something might become a possibil...

Re: Trip Planning after Shanghai opens

Disney ambassador - got it. Any chance it will cover my current expenses AND income levels, whilst I spend a couple of months bouncing around the parks???
